In another entry to our sunglasses and sun protection talks, today we bring you mirrored sunglasses. Mirrored sunglasses are sunglasses that have a reflective coating applied, and will give off the appearance of small mirrors with the finish. And while you might think that these are just for looks (and they do have a unique style to them), there are actually further benefits than just fashion. The mirror coating actually affects the amount of light that passes through the lenses. The coating will actually decrease the light by anywhere from 10% to 60% because some of the light is actually reflected by the mirrors. This actually makes your vision appear brighter than a normal pair of sunglasses. This helps to improve your field of vision, which can be useful when around the water or snow. This makes them a popular choice for sports, or outdoor activities, especially if you will be outside for long periods of time. Mirrored sunglasses also offer a lot of glare protection, which is again why they are good for activities like boating or skiing, where the sun is reflecting off the water or snow. But they can also be helpful if you are sensitive to light – if you often find that the glare of the sun gives you headaches, mirrored sunglasses might be a perfect fit for you.
