Our Favorite 2024 Summer Frames

We’re halfway through summer, but still enjoying every moment we can. The designers we work with have brought out some amazing styles this year and we’ve been fortunate enough to have beautiful people to match them with.

There are still a number of frames available that we want to show off. Each one encapsulates the summer vibes.

Kuboraum – Sun Maske U6

You might notice the strong shape of these frames at an initial glance, but when you see them up close you’re floored by the texture work.

Each pair is made from a selection of different hand made textures and designed. It brings a whole new meaning to unique.

TAVAT – Stealth

Tavat makes some wonderful designs, playing with and merging different shapes to make something new.

The Stealth series of Tavat frames are anything but their namesake. A great choice to highlight your personality and showing off your confidence this summer.

Thierry Lasry – Wavvvy

There’s something about taking a nostalgic look and giving it a sci-fi makeover.

Thierry Lasry Wavvvy frames are a very difficult pair to describe to someone.

They’re large, but not imposing.
They’re loud, but they shout softly.
They’re livid, but it makes everything else vibrant.

Truly, the only thing to do is try a pair on for yourself and see how it transforms you.

Anne et Valentin – Fandango & Floris

A beautiful frame from one of our newest brands.

The Fandango from Anne et Valentin is a crossroads frame. It’s light, approachable and somewhat familiar.

We really love the material work on these frames though.

Sure, it’s quality stainless steel and acetate, materials we’ve seen before used to great effect, but the finishing on these materials outlines the amazing craftsmanship that goes into the frames from Anne et Valentin.

The colours they’ve chosen for these frames were so cool as well. Classic meets modern chic. It’s like finding a fashion magazine from the 70s that hasn’t faded yet!

Anne et Valentin is quickly becoming a fan favourite amongst the SPEX family. The harmonious colours they’ve chosen for each model is extended onto others, so if the shape isn’t quite to your liking but the colour is, they’ve got you covered!

Balmain – Brigade 1

The Balmain Brigade 1 frames have been a great callback to a style of frames that were originally function over form or fashion. The side shields on these glasses had an intended use of protecting people who operated dangerous machinery, worked in mines and even operated welding rigs.

You’d think that this aesthetic drawn from its working class origins would take that legacy and become a very rough and rugged style, but it’s transcended a rich history to becoming a mainstay in popular eyewear.

These aren’t the first side shield frames we’ve seen, and they won’t be the last, but these are a personal favorite look for this summer.

Nathalie Blanc – Alice (with a custom gradient tint)

You don’t have to be bold to turn heads, but you shouldn’t settle for subtle, either.

Nathalie Blanc has shown us that with the Alice frames.

The thin, smooth and deliberate frames invite a closer look to what is a beautiful and intricate shape. A smooth flowing curve that’s accentuated with a sharp stop at the temple with gold at the temples.

We loved the lens tint on this one as well. The stark contrast between the black and yellow give such a personalized feel that gives an amazing sense of individual style.

These are the kind of frames we love to carry. We’re waiting for the Cinderella slipper moment when they find the face that fits them perfectly.

We geek out about glasses, A LOT, so we always appreciate being able to share the frames that make us go “Wow!”

There’s always something new for us to share, whether it’s the rich history of a brand, the rules they break and the cool stuff they’re bringing out.

Next time you have a moment, come into one of the stores and we’ll geek out about awesome frames together.

…and maybe we can make it your Cinderella Moment.
